Manny Pacquiao is now awaiting Floyd Mayweather’s decision to say yes to a 50-50 split of the purse for their mega-blockbuster fight on May.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Pacquiao stated,
“Sa lahat ng mga fans ko ‘oo’ na lang ni Mayweather na tanggapin niya ‘yung 50 percent na share niya at tuloy na ‘yung laban.”
“Siya na dapat ang mag-oo kasi kailangan marami kasi siyang kinakausap, marami siyang representatives. Kapag tinanggap niya ‘yon, $50-60 million ang kikitain niya.”

“To all my fans, we are still waiting for Mayweather to say ‘yes’ to a 50 percent split of the revenue and the fight is on.”
“He should be the one to say ‘yes’ because he has so many representatives. If he accepts it, he will make $50-60 million.”

If Mayweather declines the 50-50 split, the fight will not push through. Pacquiao will instead choose among four opponents: Juan Manuel Marquez, Timothy Bradley Jr., Miguel Cotto or Lamont Peterson.

Yesterday, Mayweather called out Pacquiao on Twitter to accept a May 5th fight stating that his jail sentence was moved so he can fight on that date.
However, Top Rank’s Bob Arum and Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz earlier stated that they would prefer to fight at the end of May in time for a larger arena to be finished. In order to maximize revenue they said, an arena that can hold over 45,000 spectators is needed in lieu of the smaller MGM Grand in Las Vegas which can only hold 16,000.
