Here’s yet another twist regarding the alleged Carlos Slim Helu $65 million offer from Manny Pacquiao’s trusted adviser himself, Michael Koncz.
In an overseas telephone conversation with the Daily Inquirer, Koncz said,
“That’s old news. It’s from before and it’s not really an offer. It’s nothing. It’s not even in the book anymore.”
Koncz disclosed that it was merely a letter that was sent to the Mexican Ambassador in Manila which apparently was relayed to Ilocos Sur governor Luis “Chavit” Singson. He said “it happened some seven months ago.”
The adviser indicated that “for all intents and purposes right now it’s over with. There’s no negotiations going on with Mexico right now.”
Earlier, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer denied the rumor saying he has good relations with the people of Slim and that he had spoken directly to Slim who said “its not true.”
