Mayweather vs Ortiz Betting Odds, Ortiz 8-1 Underdog

Despite being the younger, larger and stronger boxer, Victor Ortiz opens up as an 8-1 underdog to Floyd Mayweather Jr. according to Las Vegas book makers.

This is in agreement with many boxing analysts who think that the slugger Ortiz has no chance against a slick, defensive, technical fighter like Mayweather.

At the Face Off With Max Kellerman, Mayweather says forty one have tried, forty one have failed – in reference to his unblemished 41-0 win-loss record.

Mayweather has been listed as -800, while Ortiz is +500, according to sportsbook. Based on this line, an $800 bet on Mayweather would only win $100, while a measly $100 wager on Ortiz would win $500.

Mayweather vs Ortiz billed as “Star Power” will be held on September 17, 2011, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada and will be televised on HBO Pay-Per-View.
