A global icon in his own right, football superstar David Beckham expressed his admiration for Manny Pacquiao at the press conference before his team the LA Galaxy’s exhibition match against the Philippine Azkals on December 3 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
He one-upped it further when after being substituted at the 75th minute, he went to Pacquiao at the stands and handed his sweat-drenched jersey to the boxing champion.
It was a show of class from the superstar that drew admiration and cheers from the crowd.
“I couldn’t wait to get off the field when I saw him (Pacquiao). I’m a huge fan,” shared Beckham, who scored the first goal for the LA Galaxy in the 20th minute at the first half on their way to a 6-1 rout over the Azkals.
Beckham also gave a signed jersey to Phil Younghusband at the post-game conference.
